Syria: A former Saydnaya prisoner and Assad's cousin
Sarah Montague speaks to Omar Alshogre and Ribal al-Assad
After the fall of Bashar al-Assad's regime in Syria, thousands of prisoners have been released from Saydnaya military prison just outside of Damascus, with reports suggesting that some prisoners were being held in secret underground cells by the previous administration.
The World At One's Sarah Montague speaks to Omar Alshogre, who spent three years in the prison.
Sarah also speaks to Assad's cousin, Ribal al-Assad, who says he "felt a big relief" when he heard the news of the regime's fall.
