Lee Davis was jailed for selling drugs and phones to inmates when he was working as a prison officer. In other cases, staff have been convicted of having sexual relationships with prisoners. A record 165 prison staff were sacked for misconduct in England and Wales in the year to June 2024 out of more than 23-thousand prison officers. Sima Kotecha, the 麻豆社's Senior UK Correspondent, has been trying to find out the extent of the problem.
