How can sensory gardens help those with autism and other disabilities?
It's estimated that approximately one in every 100 children in the UK has autism, and diagnoses are on the rise. Presenter Christine McGuinness is not only raising her three kids with the condition but also learning to live with it herself after being diagnosed in adulthood. Christine visits South Yorkshire to meet a couple who created the Autism Allotment, a supportive space for children with autism and other disabilities. They saw a lack of resources for autistic adults, so together with the help of the local community, they’ve turned a plot of fly-tipped wasteland into a fantastic sensory experience.
