Collectively, they're one of the great courtyard houses of Tudor London, a major medieval London thoroughfare, and a ceremonial and administrative centre in Tudor times. But - scratch below the surface - and the histories of The Charterhouse, Cheapside and Guildhall are far more grisly than you might realise.
