The future of Rugby's St Cross Hospital
The population of Rugby is growing rapidly and there have been calls to expand the town's hospital as a result.
However, the hospital's trust have now confirmed that one of its wards will close in December.
University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust said in a statement that the closure of the Hoskyn Ward was due to a "significant reduction" of transfers to the hospital due to a new scheme which avoids the need for Coventry patients to be transferred to the site, and confirmed that it will not reduce beds for locals.
We've been speaking to local Rugby people about the closure, and UHCW CEO Andy Hardy.
