US Election Unspun: Could hurricane claims sway voters?
Maybe there was a time when natural disasters, even in the middle of a heated political campaign season, would bring the country together. But not now.
For the past two weeks - first with Hurricane Helene, and now Milton - Trump has kept up a steady stream of attacks on the government's disaster response. He has pushed inaccurate claims that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (Fema) is short of money for relief efforts because it used up disaster funds caring for undocumented migrants.
