In August 2024 a car collided with the walls of Bidford-on-Avon bridge, becoming wedged in the structure.
The bridge has been closed since for repairs to take place, and it's expected to remain closed until the end of November.
But now, Barton Road in nearby Welford-on-Avon, which would be the obvious alternative way across the river, has also been closed so National Grid can install a new underground electricity cable for a housing development there.
