Martin Lewis on current mortgage rates
Martin Lewis urges people to start looking for a new mortgage deal six months before the current one ends.
Speaking to 5 Live’s Adrian Chiles, Martin said: “Mortgage rates are finally dropping.â€
“The cheapest five-year date fixes are easily limboing below 4% while the cheapest two-year fixes are scraping under 4%.
“As mortgage rates have come down, it’s starting to look like those people who are on standard variable rates or are coming of their fixers are going to be able to get decent deals.â€
He highlighted: “Six months is crucial, if you don’t know when your rate ends, go and get your diary out now right now; find out when you deal ends and go put a marker in your dairy.â€
