Winter fuel payments: What does Martin Lewis think?
Martin Lewis shares his thoughts on the government's recent decision to restrict winter fuel payments to people receiving pension credit.
The new Labour government removed the payments from millions of pensioners earlier this week, after a vote in the Commons passed with a majority of 120 MPs.
It'll see only the poorest of pensioners receive the boost - favouring a 'means tested' approach, but Martin isn't completely sold.
"I think the means testing is too narrow. People on 拢13, 拢14, 拢15,000 of income are going to really struggle", he said.
Martin also pointed out that last year cost of living help was also pulled, meaning "a net loss of 拢200 and 拢500" for some of the "poorest in society".
