'How I saved the life of someone on a bridge'
Shannon Clifford from Worcestershire was working a night shift on the M5 and noticed something unusual on a bridge. Thankfully she approached the woman, standing on the wrong side of the railings, and was there to support here, including when the police arrived.
Elliott Webb speaks to Shannon from her home in the countryside.
Her nominator said: 'Shannon has had a hard couple of years battling with her own mental health, so to have the courage and kindness to stop and help someone else, without any thought for her own safety is inspiring to me. Kindness is her greatest trait.'
Shannon was crowned the winner in the bravery category of the 麻豆社 Hereford & Worcester Make A Difference Awards 2024, in a ceremony at West Midlands Safari Park.
