Nova Bloom in session
A stunning live session from the Malvern and Penkridge band, and our stage at Lakefest, alongside festival coverage and the best new music, with Phillip Stoneman.
Warning: this show may contain future stars! Phillip Stoneman sits in for Andrew Marston introducing the best new music from our area, including:
• What to expect at this weekend's at this weekend's Kidderminster Music Festival, as the carpet town comes alive with nearly sixty free performances.
• In our Festival Guide: your full festival round-up, including Macclesfield's CheshireFest, which is bringing Lisa Stansfield, The Brand New Heavies, Shapeshifters to Capesthorne Hall.
• Highlights of last weekend's incredible Shrewsbury Folk Festival, which brought Elkie Brooks, Ward Thomas and Beth Nielsen Chapman to the banks of the River Severn.
• Downstream, the likes of Holly Johnson from Frankie Goes To Hollywood, 90s dance vocalist Kelly Lorenna, cheese pioneers Black Lace and ska act The Selecter brought the party to the Upton Sunshine Festival. We hear from the headliners.
• In our Music News: Reuniting after 15 years, from their last performance, at the old V Festival in Weston Park, hear how the story of the Gallagher brothers is intertwined with our area, as Oasis make the comeback of all comebacks! Hear from former Hay-on-Wye music mogul Alan McGee and the landlord of the Stoke pub that had the band in for three gigs.
• Live music comes from a Malvern/Penkridge three-piece - including a pair of Land Rover loving and beekeeping twin brothers - who brought their bright indie-pop sound to our stage at Lakefest near Ledbury.
• Tributes to Stoke-born, Nantwich music producer Danny Stubbs, who died suddenly aged 40 this week, from those who knew him best, and colleagues from the music industry, including Paul Oakenfold.
