Edward Bright was known to many as the 'Fat Man of Maldon'.
He might have even been the weightiest man in the world.
Born in Great Waltham, Edward worked as a grocer and weighed an incredible 44 stone when he died in 1750.
Following his death, wagers took place at the Black Bull and the King's Head in Maldon to see how many people could fit inside Edward's buttoned waistcoat.
Lynne Raymond has been researching Edward's life.
