'I lost my hands and feet to sepsis' - an MP's story

South Thanet MP Craig Mackinlay lost his hands and feet to sepsis - and was told he might not survive. Now, he's returning to Parliament for the first time since his illness.

When South Thanet MP Craig Mackinlay fell ill with sepsis, it led to him being put in an induced coma for two weeks and his chances of survival were put at just 5%. Doctors had no choice but to amputate both his hands and feet to save his life. Now, eight months on, he's learned to walk and live a normal life using prosthetics -- and he's due to return to Parliament for the first time since he was taken to hospital in September. He's been speaking to the 麻豆社's political correspondent, Helen Catt, for this episode of Five Minutes On.
