30 years of the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance
The yellow helicopter flown by the Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance is a familiar sight over the two counties, and the service is now marking its 30th anniversary.
Initially covering Lincolnshire only, it flew its first airlift on May 13, 1994, expanding to also cover Nottinghamshire two years later.
30 years on, the air ambulance is capable of operating around the clock with a crew of doctors and paramedics, with a team of staff and volunteers running the service and raising millions of pounds each year to continue flying.
