Henley's Dame who has donated millions to charity
Dame Stephanie "Steve " Shirley is a philanthropist from Henley who has recently won a Pride of Britain award.
She recalls how she fled her home in Germany and came to the UK as a child refugee in 1939.
A ground-breaking entrepreneur, she went on to start an all-female software firm in the 1960s and then used the money she earned to fund her philanthropy.
She tells 麻豆社 Radio Berkshire鈥檚 Sarah Walker about the satisfaction she receives from her donations which include funding Priors Court School in Thatcham.
