Glenda Jackson – A life well lived

Celia Imrie and Neil Kinnock on their “determined and impatient comrade”.

In this episode of our 5 Minutes On podcast, the people who knew Glenda Jackson share their persona reflections with the 鶹's Kirsty Wark

A double Oscar winner, who “hated a fuss”, Glenda Jackson wowed Hollywood before turning her hand to politics.

She was the Labour MP for Hampstead and Kilburn between 1992 and 2015, most famously delivering an impassioned speech about Thatcherism in 2013.

The actress, Celia Imrie and Lord Kinnock - the former leader of the Labour Party - reflect on a woman who saw no reason why “one’s profession should preclude one having political beliefs”.

This episode is part of our podcast series, “Lives Well Lived”, available on 鶹 Sounds, and as a documentary on 鶹 iPlayer.
