Ireland's farewell to Shane MacGowan
Hundreds of people gathered in Dublin and County Tipperary to pay tribute to acclaimed songwriter and lead singer of The Pogues, Shane MacGowan.
Shane MacGowan was one of Ireland's cultural icons. The former lead singer of the Pogues flipped Irish folk music on its head with songs such as Dirty Old Town, and the classic Christmas song, Fairytale of New York. Following his death aged 65, hundreds of people, including stars Nick Cave, Bono and Johnny Depp, gathered to celebrate and mourn his life.
