Chris Mason On - Has Suella Braverman gone too far?
Analysis from the 麻豆社's Political Editor, Chris Mason, as the Home Secretary accuses the Metropolitan Police of "double standards" in how it deals with protests.
Downing Street says it did not approve an article - published in The Times newspaper - by the Home Secretary, Suella Braverman, in which she criticises the Metropolitan Police for its handling of protests. Ms Braverman claimed Scotland Yard applied "double standards" to the policing of protests by largely ignoring what she called "pro-Palestinian mobs".
Labour says Suella Braverman is out of control and should be sacked; the party leader, Sir Keir Starmer, said she was stoking tensions and undermining the police. Downing Street says the prime minister retains full confidence in his Home Secretary.
So what does this all mean for the Rishi Sunak, Suella Braverman, and the police? The 麻豆社's Political Editor, Chris Mason, shares his thoughts in this episode of our 5 Minutes On podcast.
