The man who invented The Daleks
Welsh writer Terry Nation crafted gags for Tony Hancock, wrote for shows like The Avengers and The Saint, as well as creating apocalyptic views of the world in Survivors and the 麻豆社's other big science fiction show of the 1970s, Blake's 7. But his greatest gift is surely the creation of the Daleks, one of the pillars of Doctor Who which helped to cement the series' popularity 60 years ago. For the show's 10th anniversary in 1973, Nation spoke to Denis Frost of Radio 4's Today programme about his creations.
