All-rounder Bas de Leede is following in his father Tim's footsteps for the Netherlands at the 2023 Cricket World Cup. 27 years later, Tim's son Bas De Leede is a key member of the Netherlands squad and embarking on his very first World Cup.
Tim De Leede is the Netherlands most capped player with 237 appearances, he has featured in three previous World Cups, including the 1996 tournament where India were the co-hosts.
Tim took 4 for 35 against India in the 2003 World Cup, including the wickets of Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid and the senior de Leede told 麻豆社 Stumped: "It's very nice for Bas that he ends up playing in a World Cup in India...it's really nice.
"For him, hopefully there'll be another World Cup somewhere down the line, but knowing him, he's very ambitions. He probably wants to score a hundred, but I hope he's not too focused on personal goals. Contributions to a win would be enough."
