Leicester project 'And Still I Rise' launched for Black History Month
The Leicester-based black arts and music organisation 2 Funky Arts is launching a new project for 'Black History Month'.
The 'And Still I Rise' project sees the group working with a selection of 12 local artists from Black, African, & Caribbean ethnicities.
The project is named after the late poet, writer and civil rights activist Dr Maya Angelou, who inspired generations of women with her strength and persistence, becoming a trailblazer of racial justice and feminist activism in the field of literature.
The director of 2 Funky Arts Vijay Mistry explains more about the project to Letitia George.
