Childhood cancer with Dr. Xand
A cancer diagnosis can be terrifying at any age but is unthinkable when it happens to a young person. Every year around 1800 children under the age of 14, receive a diagnosis, so for childhood cancer awareness month we explore the problems young people and their families face and Dr. Xand highlights the brilliant work being done to help.
Featuring a film focusing on families who've been affected by cancer and used their experience as an opportunity to help other people. Including 11 year old Betsy and her mum who developed pyjamas for children to wear whilst being treated in hospital.
Everyday in the UK 10 children and young people will receive the news that they have cancer, Dr. Xand explains how to navigating a diagnosis, the progress in treatment, the new technologies that are helping and shares his tips for talking to your children about the illness.
