Episode 14

Three antiques dealers head to L鈥橧sle-sur-la-Sorgue, the antique-hunting capital of southern France, where they compete to find two hidden treasures each to sell online for the most profit.

Antiques dealers Melissa Drabble, Lucy Ryder Richardson and Jon Swanston are on a buying trip to the south of France. Their base is a historic farmhouse in Provence, perfectly located close to some of the country鈥檚 best antiques markets. This time, the trio are heading to L鈥橧sle-sur-la-Sorgue, the antique-hunting capital of southern France, where they compete to find two hidden treasures each to sell online for the most profit.

The trio鈥檚 first challenge is to find something they know will appeal to their loyal customers and social media followers. Mel may have let her heart rule her head when she spotted a cat-shaped watering can with an eye-watering price tag. It鈥檚 a fun piece, but with no real antique value, she鈥檚 going to have to work hard to sell it at all, never mind make a competition-winning profit.

It鈥檚 a different story for fashion-conscious Jon, who has his eye on a pair of vintage work shirts. They鈥檙e inexpensive and unworn, and can appeal to both men and women, so he seems confident he鈥檒l be sitting pretty once he gets pictures of them posted online.

Mid-century lover Lucy leaves the street market behind, making a beeline for one of the town鈥檚 many antiques shops instead. There, she stumbles upon a pair of vintage floor-standing candlesticks she simply must have. They aren鈥檛 cheap, but with a contact book full of interior design clients to call upon, she thinks they have a great chance of making big money.

The dealers don鈥檛 only have to contend with the language barrier and a short selling period, as each day one gets the chance to turn up the pressure and set them all a challenge to shop to a specific brief. This time, it鈥檚 Lucy鈥檚 turn, and she challenges them to search this expensive market for something that costs 25 euros or less.

With just a day to secure a sale and the battle on to make the most profit, which of our trio will come out on top?
