Migrant Voices: Ayesha's story, part 1

The stories of five different migrants from across Oxfordshire, exploring what home and belonging mean to them.

Dr Hosnieh Djafari Marbini migrated from Iran aged 13, when her father was granted asylum. Now she is a city councillor and Oxfordshire's Migrant Champion, and an anaesthetic consultant for Oxford University Hospitals. Having children of her own made Hosnieh reflect on the meaning of home and belonging. She wanted to speak to other people who have migrated to the UK, to hear their thoughts. These are their stories.

In this episode, 20 year old Ayesha Abbasi shares her story. Ayesha is a second generation Pakistani Muslim woman, who started 'Help the World Oxford' – a local community youth group.
