AI at Wimbledon - The new sound of commentary?
Both male and female-sounding AI commentators are set to feature but the voices will have no human input - they'll be created solely from computers.
Wimbledon is not only lawn tennis’ biggest and oldest tournament – but it's also a festival full of quintessentially British traditions – strawberries and cream, the strict all-white dress code and Royal patronage. And since it was first televised in 1937, the Â鶹Éç and other broadcasters have been providing expert commentary of the big matches. But coverage of the outlying courts remains mostly silent.
