'County cricket was struggling, we had to do something about it' T20 pioneer discusses the format 20 years on

It's 20 years today since the first ever professional T20 cricket matches were staged and Warwickshire played that night beating Somerset in Taunton

The shorter length was introduced by the England and Wales Cricket Board back in 2003, to try to boost the game among the younger generation and has gone on to become the sport's most popular format around the world

One of the pioneers of T20 is Edgbaston's former head of marketing Stuart Robertson, he was part of the ECB at the time.
