Looking for British Butterflies
Sightings of a butterfly - which has been officially extinct in Britain for nearly a century - have set the hearts of enthusiasts fluttering.
The most recent report by the charity Butterfly Conservation says that 80% of British butterflies have declined since the 1970s. It warns we could be the last generation to enjoy these creatures in abundance. But today, thousands are still marvelling at their dazzling beauty, and a rare species thought to be extinct for nearly a century has been seen near London.
For 5 Minutes On, the 麻豆社's Security Correspondent Frank Gardner has accompanied a group of enthusiasts looking for butterflies on the outskirts of southeast London, and managed to snap an extremely rare photograph.
