Zanzibar island is known for its beautiful coastal beaches and rich history. But behind these island vibes exists a problem that has been affecting children since the 80’ - schistosomiasis also known as bilharzia. Infection is mostly through contaminated fresh water containing very small snails. Despite this, Zanzibar has made great strides in dealing with this stubborn snail. The Â鶹Éç's Saida Swaleh reports.
