Caring for deformed animals
Deformities in animals are rare and when they occur, they impair animal survival and majority die just after birth and at their early stages in life. In Kenya: especially in the traditional setup, animals born with deformities are considered an omen and most are killed at birth to safeguard the community. But in Western Kenya, the Kitale Nature Conservancy has taken up caring for deformed domestic animals to raise awareness on why animals with deformities should be cared for.
