‘Deborah James was always focussed on the people’
Deborah James’ siblings say right up until her death, the cancer awareness campaigner was reading comments from people donating money.
The You, Me and the Big C podcast presenter died with bowel cancer at the age of 40 in 2022, she fundraised £7.4m for charity in her final weeks and received a damehood in a special ceremony at her parents' home.
Speaking at a special live recording of the podcast, Benjamin James, Deborah’s brother, says her fundraising was “all about the engagement for her, not the exact [amount raised]”.
