In the southern region of Niger, a girl born into slavery can be sold by her master to a wealthy or powerful man as a Wahaya or fifth wife. We bring you the harrowing story of one woman in the West African country, who lived in slavery for 11 years. And a new UN report indicates that women and girls in Africa are at greater risk of being killed by their intimate partners or other family members. We talk to the UN Women regional director for East and Southern Africa about it. And, what are some of the challenges female politicians face?
