The Malawi women bringing an end to poor sanitation in their homes
For a long time, Choma village, Dowa District in central Malawi was a hub of sanitation-related diseases like diarrhea. But not anymore. The situation is changing after a group of women through village savings and credit cooperatives, started building resilient toilets. The women who charge a fee to construct the latrines have contributed to a reduction in open defecation and water-borne diseases. Here is their story.
