More Russian reservists are heading to Ukraine. What's President Putin's agenda?

There's been a sharp escalation of tensions between Russia and the West, after Vladimir Putin announced plans to call up 300,000 reservists to join the military campaign in Ukraine. It's Moscow's first mobilisation of civilians since the Second World War. In a televised address, President Putin accused Western countries of occupying Ukraine -- and made what's being seen as a veiled threat to use nuclear weapons. The comments come ahead of controversial referendums over the coming days in parts of Ukraine that are under Russian control, which could be a precursor to annexation.
