Is the Queen's death 'the end of divinely-ordained kingship'?

Over the last week, large queues have formed as people have been paying their last respects to Queen Elizabeth in London and Edinburgh, with wait times stretching to more than 25 hours.

But Ben Judah, the author of "This is London" and a senior fellow at the Atlantic Council, thinks old-fashioned monarchy died, last week, with the Queen.

In an opinion piece for Unheard.com - a version of which was recorded as an essay for the 麻豆社 World Service's Weekend programme -, he says that Europeans "pretended with her and for her" to accept a God-given right to rule in a way that they will no longer tolerate.
