Challenges women in STEM face as they scale towards achieving their goals
Every year, the L'Or茅al Foundation awards women who have excelled in their science PhD projects in order to encourage more women to study sciences. Currently, women scientists are leading in ground-breaking research across the world. However, despite their remarkable discoveries, they still represent just 33.3% of researchers globally, and their work rarely gains the recognition it deserves. Less than 4% of Nobel Prizes for science have ever been awarded to women. The 麻豆社鈥檚 Agnes Penda talked to some of the women from Sub-Saharan Africa who have been awarded by the foundation and they share their challenges and hopes in achieving their goals.
