Legacy plans unveiled
Green Futures is one of the lasting legacies of Coventry's City of Culture which focuses on climate and the environment. It starts in June and has received an extra 拢5m funding.
Coventry's greatest summer has begun . . .the Assembly Festival gardens are back - and there are just so many events going on and coming up.
But our year wearing the City of Culture crown is coming to an official close but it may not be the end. Green Futures is one of the lasting legacies of Coventry's year as UK City of Culture, according to the trust.
The year is due to end in five weeks but from June this year, it will move into a new phase of interactive and playful events and activities with a climate focus.Coventry City of Culture Trust will build on successful programmes delivered during 2021 and will continue to commission new activities with cultural, educational and community organisations across the city. The Trust will also create a grants programme that will support individuals and organisations to build capacity and to develop extraordinary events that enhance the city鈥檚 Green Futures credentials.
Over the next two years, the Trust will invest more than 拢5m in creative and cultural programmes and expects to welcome more than 500,000 audience members to its supported events across the city. 麻豆社 CWR's Ed Nell spoke to the City of Culture Trust's Chief executive Martin Sutherland
