Pirates take over the Canal Basin
Pirates of the Canal Basin is a fully immersive interactive show by Coventry-based Ego Performance. A giant 80-foot ship has been built on the site and the area has been transformed into a pirate's harbour. The show is split into two acts with lots of audience engagement and participation in the first act which also includes comedy and circus skills.
The second act tells the story of why the pirates are at the canal basin and who the two rival gangs are. There are also aerial performances by No Fit State Circus from an 8 metre rig on top of the ship. We went along to the rehearsals to find out more.
