The murder of a local politician by an IS fanatic shocked the community of Southend-on-Sea in Essex, UK. Sir David Amess, the Conservative MP for Southend West was stabbed more than 20 times, after his killer tricked his way into a meeting in Essex in 2021. The murderer, Ali Harbi Ali was given a whole-life sentence, and told the court he had no regrets or shame for killing the MP.
