"We can now celebrate his life"

As the Queen attends a memorial service for Prince Philip, a year after sitting alone at his funeral, Sue Horsfall reflects on coping with her husband's death from Covid in 2020.

As a memorial service is held for the Duke of Edinburgh, the royal family has finally been able to celebrate his life. Prince Philip died in April 2021, when Covid regulations restricted funerals to 30 guests - leaving the Queen memorably sitting alone in her pew.

The royals' experience reflects that of many families around the country, dealing with grief in the toughest of circumstances. Sue Horsfall's musician husband Steve died suddenly of complications from Covid in 2020. She did her best with a limited funeral to reflect a man who was the life and soul of the party - but it wasn't easy. Now she's planning a music festival in the garden for his family and many friends.

For 5 Minutes On, Sue talks to 麻豆社 correspondent Daniela Relph, about how Steve's love of music has inspired her to take up the piano - and her determination to make the most of every day.
