Life underground in Kyiv

In Ukraine's cities, heading below ground to shelter from Russian attacks has become the new normal. Bunkers and tunnels - many cold and poorly lit - have become second homes.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has sparked a new refugee crisis in Europe. Civilian areas are not safe from Russian attack. Residential flats, maternity hospitals and even convoys of people fleeing have been hit.
