Freedom for Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe

"You can't get back the time that's gone" - Nazanin's husband, Richard, says her release is "beginning of a new life, a normal life".

After six years detention, the British-Iranian national, Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, has left Iran after being freed from prison. Her husband, Richard - who has campaigned tirelessly for her release says this marks the "beginning of a new life, a normal life". Nazanin had been held in Iran since 2016 - accused of plotting to overthrow Iran's government, which she denied.

Also returning to the UK alongside Nazanin is Anoosheh Ashoori - who was arrested in 2017 and accused of spying, a claim he denied.

The 麻豆社's Caroline Hawley has spent years covering Nazanin's ordeal and now knows the family well. For 5 Minutes On, Caroline reflects on an incredibly emotional and turbulent period for everyone who knows her.
