Moon mission lessons for tackling economic crises
Prof Mariana Mazzucato tells Stephen Sackur that economic policies should not be there just to fix market failures as it will 鈥渁lways be too little too late.鈥
Instead she argues that governments should be proactive in forging relationships with business and the third sector to tackle major problems.
She says lessons should be learned from the Moon landing mission of the 1960s.
鈥淲e would have never ever gotten to the Moon had government just tried to de-risk or enable the business sector鈥.
Prof Mazzucato is the founding director of the Institute for Innovation and Public Purpose at University College London.
