'I feel as if I have been totally neglected': islander shares his family's experiences of Jersey's rehabilitation services
Graham Bisson's wife suffered a stroke in late 2020, and was treated in Plemont Ward at Jersey's General Hospital.
Ahead of discussions in the States Assembly on the future of the island's rehabilitation services, he told Ashlea Tracey about his family's experiences.
Patients in need of rehabilitation were previously treated in Samares Ward at Overdale.
But since it was closed in May 2020, some people believe the the facilities and quality of care available to patients is not as good as it used to be.
Following a late night meeting, the government has agreed not to oppose calls to reinstate the full suite of stroke and injury rehabilitation services, either at Samares Ward or at 'another suitable location'.
