The film 'The Butternut Squash Gang in: Lapushka!', is all about childhood, friendship, loyalty and being silly. It's described by its writer Kevin Proctor as a love letter to the children's films of the 70s and 80s and is filmed in the same vein as films and TV series such as The Goonies, Stand By Me and The Red Hand Gang.

Actors Maxine Peake, Barney Fishwick, Sunil Patel, Tim Renkow, Bobby Mair, Nicola Holt and Rob Carter all star in the film alongside local children from Bedworth.

The film is to be premiered in Bedworth and there are plans for a sequel, so cast and crew are heading back to Bedworth to start filming again in August 2022. Now at the post-production stage, a fundraising campaign has been launched to raise the final monies needed to get it to the big screen.
