Why is sewage ending up in our waterways?
The issue has become the subject of a major public campaign.
Last year, public anger rose over the amount of raw sewage entering our rivers. The government opposed a change the House of Lords wanted to the environment bill, but promised to strengthen action on water companies. As part of a series of reports, the 麻豆社鈥檚 Climate Editor, Justin Rowlatt, explores how and why sewage is entering waterways.
He first visits the River Test in Hampshire with musician and activist Feargal Sharkey, and then speaks to campaigners at the River Wye, which runs through South Herefordshire. Following that, Mishal Husain questions the conservative MP for that constituency, Jesse Norman.
