Mum's rushed to hospital again, which means a motorway dash in the snow for son Andrew
Son Andrew gets a call from Mum's bedtime carers to say that she's been sick and is unresponsive. Paramedics take her to the accident and emergency unit in Hull, where she lives. That means a motorway dash from Leeds, in blizzard conditions, for son Andrew on the night that Storm Arwen strikes. He talks a doctor through Mum's medical history, then gets a few hours sleep before returning the following morning. After intravenous fluids and antibiotics Carolyn is much, and surprisingly, improved. She even reaches out to tap him on the head as he sits at her bedside. Mum and Me: The Dementia Diary was originally broadcast on 麻豆社 Radio Leeds.
