Tipple tax - have women been paying more to drink?
Sparkling wines are among the biggest sellers when it comes to alcoholic drinks, especially among women. Colletta Smith looks at the impact of the Chancellor's booze tax shake up.
The Chancellor's announced a big shake up in the way our favourite tipples are taxed. Currently, it's a hotch-potch system, with more than 15 different rates that aren't necessarily matched to the amount of alcohol in a drink. For 5 Minutes On, the Â鶹Éç's Consumer Affairs Correspondent Colletta Smith has been finding out about those shifting drinking habits and what impact the Chancellor's changes might have on them.
