As we emerge from the pandemic there have been increasingly loud demands for GPs to see patients face-to-face instead of over the telephone or online.
The Prime Minister and Health Secretary have backed a Daily Mail campaign on the issue. But with escalating demand and a massive backlog of non-Covid problems, how realistic is it for GPs to go back to exactly as they were pre-Covid? And is that what people even want?
Health correspondent Deb Cohen has been in Sheffield to understand what strain the system is under.
