Why the 麻豆社 has apologised over Princess Diana interview
An interview with Diana, Princess of Wales, was broadcast on the 麻豆社 in 1995. This was a huge scoop for the 麻豆社 as the Princess of Wales spoke in candid terms about life in the Royal Family and relationships with other royals. But after accusations resurfaced last autumn that Martin Bashir, who carried out the interview, misled the princess to gain her trust, the 麻豆社 established an inquiry led by the former Supreme Court judge Lord Dyson. That inquiry, released this week, has judged Bashir to be "unreliable", "devious" and "dishonest" and that Bashir used deception to secure the interview and then lied to 麻豆社 managers.
The 麻豆社 has made an "unconditional apology" over the way it secured the interview.
