'I was kind of on probation' - Clive Tyldesley

For more than two decades, Clive Tyldesley was the voice of ITV’s big football nights - be they in the Champions League, World Cups, European Championships or FA Cups. He's also worked with some of the biggest names in the game such as Sir Alex Fergyuson, Brian Clough and Bill Shankley. However, last summer he was shocked to learn that he had been demoted from his role as their lead football commentator. Now he has penned a book ‘Not For Me, Clive’ to recollect the many highs and lows of a long career. And when Eric White spoke to him earlier this week he began by asking him what inspired him to become a commentator.
